Yep I learned my lesson! I was going through a rough time then because both my parents were really bad off and I turned to retail therapy.
That’s why I’m sticking to Alexander items!

Ebay - Be high bidder on an auction, over reserve and ready to close only to have the seller close the auction, cancel my bid and then see the bike or part I wanted and would have gotten posted here on the CABE
Something similar just happened to me this morning AFTER the auction closed. My bid was accepted, I was the high bidder, auction ended, I got a notice to Pay Now, and then shortly there after I got an "Order has been cancelled" email. The seller followed up with a message offering to sell me the item at double what my winning bid was. WTF?

Not that it might do much good but I would report to ebay with that message attached.

I know I'm just whining, but what ever happened to it's "a binding contract"?

I posted this back in May. It was not livmo's javrev_98 but cut from the same cloth it appears:
Here is one I had a few months back. Seller said immediate payment required. OK no problem. I win at a nice price and start to pay. At 30 seconds after ending I get a stock e-mail from seller " why do you buy and not pay" At 1 minute the deal gets cancelled (seller lies and said I requested it) and he relists it and blocks me. See you can't leave feedback if he does that. He had done this 4 other times on the same item. He finally got the price he wanted and the guy paid a day later. Filed 2 complaints with ebay since he is violating ebay rules. Of course nothing. Still selling. So the buyer doesn't always win.

sure if it would do any good, but one can report eBay messages.
The "report" button is hidden under the 3-dots, (
notmeant to make reporting more difficult).

What? Sure you can. Every now and then I come across a seller with Negs stating that the guy cancelled as Buyer Requested, and the buyer is saying right there that he never requested a cancellation.

Well I would like to know how in this situation. I tried everything I could think of.

Hmmm... I have not gotten cancelled by a seller in this manner for several years, so I cannot say what may have changed. I'll see if I can find out more. I think eBay has changed their fast-cancel rules to give a golden hour after the sale within which the buyer can cancel without needing permission from the seller. It may be that the buyer is blocked from leaving feedback in that situation... but that's not the same as a seller initiating the cancel. There are only narrowly-defined terms when a buyer is blocked from leaving feedback (e.g. when a sale is automatically cancelled after 4 days for non-payment), but I'm not aware that cancelling as Buyer Requested, when the buyer did not request anything of the kind, is one action for which the buyer cannot leave feedback.

Looks like javrev_98 is a bad person and you just need to steer clear of him.
